Description: Introduces the archaeological specialty of zooarchaeology, which is the study of human-animal interactions through the analysis of archaeologi­cal remains from archaeological sites. Explores the basics of vertebrate osteology through lectures and hands-on exercises, as well as the nature of various types of zooarchaeological interpretation such as studies of hunting and butchering practices, dietary importance, seasonality, domestication, paleopathology, and past environment.
