CHIN 201 - Intermediate Chinese Language and Culture Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3
Prerequisite: CHIN 102 Corequisite: none Restriction: Students with prior language learning experience especially who have taken a higher numbered Chinese course should consult the Department for placement and/or approval. Description: A continuation of CHIN 102. Further develops Chinese language proficiency and applies the Chinese language in real-life situations at the intermediate level, focusing on the three modes of communication, i.e., interpretive (listening and reading), interpersonal and presentational (speaking and writing). Also further analyzes selected products, practices, and perspectives in Chinese cultures, and compares and contrasts them with those in one’s own culture.
