Prerequisite: MUSC 115 with a grade of C or better. Corequisite: None. Restriction: Students must be enrolled in a music degree program, the Music Minor, or the Certificate in Popular Music Studies. Description: Investigates the materials, forms, and aesthetics of Western music, including popular music. Explores diatonic harmony, embellishing tones, tonicization, common chord loops, and Classical phrase structure. Involves basic model composition.
