Prerequisite: MUSC 116 with a grade of C or better. Corequisite: None. Restriction: Students must be enrolled in a music degree program, the Music Minor, or the Certificate in Popular Music Studies. Description: Investigates the materials, forms, and aesthetics of Western music, including popular music. Explores modulation, modal mixture, the Neapolitan, augmented-sixth chords, sonata form, and blues and song forms. Involves model composition.
