Prerequisite: SOC 151 or SOC 161 or instructor permission Description: Explores constructs of masculinity within the context of US culture using a sociological lens. Examines the notion that there are multiple masculinities that intersect with a range of areas including race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, and gender identity. Evaluates the influence of social contexts and roles on behavioral expectations for men and boys. Analyzes implications for society and individual men.
