Description: Describes and analyzes fundamental principles and concepts of organic chemistry and biochemistry. Characterizes structural features of organic compounds and the chemistry of functional groups, and applies these to understanding practical examples and uses of organic compounds and biomolecules. Illustrates properties and reactions of representative organic compounds and biomolecules in experiments in the laboratory component of the course.
