Restriction: Criminology majors or criminology minors or department permission.
Description: Introduces the ï¬eld of criminology through the examination of historical data, statistical information, theories of criminal causation, social control of behavior, development of laws, evaluation of criminal justice system policies, procedures, and trends. Emphasizes terminology of the field, an awareness of the methods of inquiry utilized in the ï¬eld, and examination of personal attitudes and values regarding crime and responses to crime.
