MATH 650 - Themes in the History of Mathematics Credits: 3 Prerequisite: A calculus sequence. Traces the historical development of major themes in mathematics from their origins to their modern forms. Themes include mathematics of the heavens and earth (trigonometry), solving algebraic equations, areas and volumes (calculus), and optimization.
