SAFE 660 - Applied Industrial Hygiene Credits: 3 Prerequisite: CHEM 101, SAFE 330, and SAFE 430 or equivalent, or permission of the instructor. Examines the current expectations and responsibilities of professionals engaged in the practice of industrial hygiene. Students become familiar with 1) the current approaches to anticipating and identifying potential health hazards in the workplace and/or environment; 2) methods and techniques for determining quantitatively the amount of environmental stresses present; and 3) proper strategies and methods for implementing effective controls.
