Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or better in GEOS 200 An introduction to crystallography, crystal chemistry, physical properties, optical properties, and phase equilibria of minerals pertinent to geology and economic resources. Laboratory exercises focus on mineral identification and interpretation as well as analytical techniques such as x-ray diffractometry and optical microscopy
