Prerequisite: Enrolled in mathematics education, sophomore standing An introduction to topics of elementary number theory including divisibility, prime numbers, factorization, binary numbers, modular arithmetic, identification codes, cryptography, Diophantine equations, Euclidean algorithm, and alternative algorithms. Explores curricular materials, resources, and activities relevant to teaching number theory at the middle and secondary levels.
