GEOS 313 - Environmental Geophysics Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 3 Credits: 4
Prerequisite: MATH 105 or equivalent math placement score, GEOS 101 or GEOS 200 Introduces near surface geophysical methods for shallow subsurface imaging and mapping of geological and environmental features. Emphasizes electromagnetic methods such as ground penetrating radar and electrical methods such as resistivity and terrain conductivity and their application to geological and environmental problems. Includes hands-on research experience with an array of instruments for industry and academic-based applied geophysical research questions.
