The Master of Science degree in Sport Science is designed to meet the needs of the students with interest in sport, health, and fitness professions. The program is discipline-specific with provision for students to choose from four programs of study: Sport Management, Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, and Sport Studies.
Based upon their selected program of study students are prepared for a variety of competitive employment opportunities as clinicians, coaches, finess specialists, and administrators of sport and athletic programs. Students will be able to obtain employment in a variety of settings: including professional, college and amatteur athletics, allied health, corporate fitness, community health and recreation programs, hospital and medical-based exercise programs. Additionally, employment can be found in strength and conditioning facilities working with a variety of athletes as well as tactical programs such as police, firefighters, EMTs, and military settings.

Indicator - A minimum of 90% or better of all students will obtain a grade of “B” or better on the course term paper

Program Outcome - Demonstrate mastery of intellectual and practical skills necessary to work in health, fitness, and sport settings
Indicator - A minimum of 90% or better of all students will rate an average of at least 4/5 on all questions with a Likert scale assessing overall satisfaction with the Exercise Science Concentration educational experience. The assessment is included as part of the exit survey completed by all students completing an internship. A student’s rating reflects how well their educational experience associated with the Exercise Science program prepared them to meet the expectations of their internship work experience in health, fitness, or sport settings

Program Outcome - Model professional responsibility and ethical judgment in health, fitness, and/or sport settings
Indicator - Students will obtain a score of 90% or better on the final evaluation completed by their internship site supervisor. A minimum of 90% of all students completing internships must meet this standard
