Finance Minor

A Finance Minor allows students to gain a well-rounded understanding of the financial world and demonstrate knowledge and skills associated with managing money, working with investments, and solving financial problems. (1, 2)

Crimson Core:


Students must complete one of the Probability and Statistics courses (MATH 114 or MATH 117 or MATH 216 ) as a prerequisite for the FINA 310 Fundamentals of Finance course.  Students should take one of the Probability and Statistics courses to fulfill the Crimson Core Quantitative Reasoning & Data Analysis competency requirement (or as a Crimson Core Controlled Elective course, depending on the Quantitative Reasoning & Data Analysis specification of the primary major).

Finance Minor Controlled Electives: 6


Six credits from designated ECON courses, FINA 300-level courses, or FINA 400-level courses such that at least three credits must be from a FINA prefix course (2)

Total Minor Requirements: 18


(1) Minor course requirements must be completed with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

(2) A maximum of three credits from FINA 493 Finance Internship may be used to count towards the Finance Minor.
