The Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Culinary Arts is a five-semester program designed to prepare students for professional careers in the culinary field. The program features a blend of hands-on training in professional kitchen laboratories, culinary, baking and pastry theory, liberal studies coursework, and a paid industry externship. Students will complete four semesters at our Punxsutawney Campus with the fifth semester at a full-time, paid externship, providing students with valuable real-world experience and their first employment opportunity in the industry. The Academy’s approach combines technical skill development with theoretical knowledge and traditional classroom instruction, offering students a comprehensive understanding of cooking, baking, and pastry methodologies. Through this integrated curriculum, students gain the practical experience and academic foundation necessary for success in a variety of culinary settings.
