The Finance program (1, 2, 3), leading to a degree of bachelor of science, is designed to educate students who are interested in pursuing one of the many career opportunities within the areas of corporate and personal financial management, banking, insurance, other financial institutions, and investments. The objective of the Finance program is to provide students with a broad base of knowledge, both theoretical and practical, as well as the analytical, technical, and decision-making skills necessary to build a successful career in an exciting and rapidly changing field.
(1) No courses fulfilling any Crimson Core requirements may count simultaneously either as Business Administration Core or Finance Major courses; alternatively, no courses used to fulfill Eberly Business Administration Core or Finance Major courses may count simultaneously towards fulfilling any Crimson Core requirements. For example, Finance majors must take ITMG 110 as an Eberly Business Administration Core requirement, so ITMG 110 cannot be used to satisfy any Crimson Core requirements.
(2) A maximum of two non-FINA prefix courses can count toward the Finance Major.
(3) Up to three credits of FINA 493 Finance Internship may count towards fulfilling Finance Major Controlled Elective credits, and up to 9 additional credits may count towards free electives.
