Musical Theatre Certificate

The Musical Theatre Certificate offers students knowledge of and training in all aspects of musical theatre within a liberal arts context. Students will explore dimensions of theatre, music, and dance and develop collaborative skills and knowledge to enhance their competitiveness in the entertainment and educational fields. Successful graduates will be capable of applying their learning to a wide variety of career options including, but not limited to, performance. For students intent on a professional career in performance, additional learning through free electives (and even a minor area of study) is advised in acting, voice training, music proficiency, and dance.

An audition in two of the three disciplines (Music, Theatre, Dance) is required for entry into this certificate. Students take six credits in each discipline, and an additional six credits in one of the disciplines as advised. These additional six credits cannot be in the students major.
