MATH 417 - Statistical Applications Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3
Prerequisite: MATH 214 or MATH 216 or MATH 217 (for non-mathematics majors) Description: Using computer programs, a wide array of statistical procedures for educational research workers is explored. Basic concepts of statistical inference and prediction are reviewed, including regression analysis and prediction, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance and covariance, and partial and multiple correlation. Emphasizes use of the computer and interpretation of computer printouts, along with understanding techniques employed. No computer knowledge is necessary.
